INDAAR Website Launch
19 November 2009
Welcome to INDAAR!
Transnationalism is an important aspect of much diasporic Asian art production and its critical reception. Nevertheless, transnational dialogues between and across diasporic Asian visual art contexts are still largely under-developed, and even then, most of these conversations have to date taken place as informal networking only. INDAAR seeks to formalise these engagements. It specifically acts as a conduit for facilitating current dialogues with a view to sustaining them into the future.
Shared knowledge is key to enabling dialogic communication and interchange. To this end, the INDAAR website will be featuring and collating information about relevant exhibitions, publications and research projects. In addition, a partial archive of shared resources (for example, publications, reports and bibliographies) contributed by INDAAR members will be developed over time. It is also envisaged that members may eventually initiate and work on collaborative projects, publications, conference panel presentations and/or grant applications that serve as both outcomes and outlets for our ongoing transdiaporic dialogues.
We plan to announce a number of new initiatives in 2010, so please check this website for regular updates.
