PANEL PRESENTATIONS: INDAAR@AAAS New Orleans, 19 May 2011

We are pleased to announce there will be two panels featuring INDAAR members at the Association of Asian American Studies (AAAS) Annual Conference, which will be held at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel on 19 May 2011.

Curated and chaired by Dean Chan, the inaugural INDAAR conference panel is entitled “Between the Domestic and the Trans-Pacific: Trans/national Perspectives on the Production and Consumption of Asian American Visual Culture”, and features presentations by Margo Machida, Laura Kina, Iyko Day and Katherine Behar.

This session will be followed by a second panel featuring INDAAR members. Curated by Jacqueline Lo, this panel is entitled “Making Transnational Connections: Australia, Canada and the United States”. Chaired by Margo Machida, this session features presentations by Jacqueline Lo, Dean Chan and Chris Lee (University of British Columbia, Canada). This panel is an outcome of Lo’s and Chan’s ARC Discovery Project “Being Asian in Australia and the United States” (Project Number DP0880038).
